Planetarium Lecco

The Lecco Planetarium is located in Palazzo Belgiojoso, a museum complex that includes the Natural History Museum, the Archaeological Museum and the Historical Museum of Lecco. It is one of the best structures of its kind in Italy and is managed by the municipality, which owns it, in collaboration with the Gruppo Astrofili “DEEP SPACE Lecco”. Its dome measures eight meters in diameter and reproduces the appearance of the sky visible to the naked eye, actually observable in ideal visibility conditions from any point on Earth, on any date.

The Manzonian Museum

The Manzonian Museum is located on the ground floor of Villa Manzoni, in the hamlet of Caleotto, in Lecco.
It is a house-museum, in fact on the ground floor all the original furnishings of the family have been preserved and right here the museum route winds through nine rooms, through which, immersed in the atmosphere of the past, you can see many objects relating to Alessandro Manzoni, starting from his cradle, his works, autographed manuscripts and objects, a portrait of the writer, a series of prints of the territory of Lecco from the 18th and 19th centuries, paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries illustrate the evolution of the landscape in the Manzonian places.

The visit begins and ends with elements directly linked to the Promessi Sposi: in the first room there are the original clothes made for the television version edited by Salvatore Nocita and the last one preserves the Quarantana, the main edition of the Promessi Sposi, published in 1840.
The 1840 edition is the illustrated version of the novel with drawings by Francesco Gonin.

Fortified village of Lecco

The rampart of the walls is all that is visible of the city walls that Azzone Visconti had built in 1336 to fortify Lecco. The walls also included the lakeside castle, of which the Torre Viscontea remains visible today, whose nearby vicolo della Torre was the access route to the castle via the Porta di Milano.

A further fortification of the village was constituted by the Azzone Visconti bridge over the Adda, a strategic point for controlling communication routes and commercial traffic, which in the following century became a natural border between the lands of Milan and Venice.

Interactive Alpinism Museum Lecco

A modern, technological, interactive museum. Discover the mountains of Lecco and the men who made history and created an internationally recognized territorial identity.

The Lecco Alpine Observatory is housed on the top floor of the Palazzo delle Paure, in the historic center of Lecco in Piazza XX Settembre.
When we talk about Lecco, it is inevitable to think of our mountains and the mountaineers who made them famous throughout the world. Lecco is linked by a fixed rope to the historic group of red sweaters: the Ragni di Lecco, among which the figure of Riccardo Cassin stands out, born in Friuli but a Lecco citizen at heart.
